Well, I'm certainly no closer to that old soundtrack getting turned into an animation. Not too long after the last post I became completely engulfed in my other projects, with everything else falling to the wayside. The possible play I mentioned before never came about, mostly due to the lack of motivation on behalf the others involved in it. Even the family footage editing has sat untouched for weeks. Although that has more to do with the fact that I realized I'd only filmed the uninteresting bits of the vacation due to the fact then when something was interesting and engaging, I was engaged in it and participating, not sitting back and filming it.

The project which has become the strongest of the baby crows, killing its siblings so as to have all the food to itself, is Swamp Planet, the multimedia project. Even that, however, has been drastically cut down. The photo album which was supposed to be part of the package has been completely trashed along with... the package. My original intention to market the finished project to my friends pretty quickly started to become less and less realistic after looking at costs and supply and demand and all that junk. So I figured I'd forget all that and direct my focus instead to making the best product I possibly can.

The music for the central album is coming along nicely, as are the unexpected but surprisingly enjoyable B-side type warm ups I keep coming up with. A few I'm even considering expanding and rerecording for better quality, or at least making extensive notes on how to play them for the the future. That has always been a failing of mine in the past: writing down music or other ideas I come up with, believing them to be safe within my head only to completely lose them, often not even remembering that they'd been forgotten, if you know what I mean. I've been working on that as of late. Except for some Dogma00 music I made literally this morning. Didn't bother writing that down. I'm probably going to give it another go and try to duplicate the better parts of what I improvised, but make better note of it at some point in the future.

The movie segment of the project has exploded from being essentially and extended music video with segments of characters having disconnected conversations to a 20 minute character driven short. It's based on true events in a way, in that a number of occurrences in the film are things that have happened recently and some objects are used in similar ways, but the story and the events that take place within it are entirely created.

I've spent the day rolling coins following a panic attack of sorts yesterday, during which I arrived at the conclusion that I absolutely needed a microphone. This is of course true, and I've managed to put together well over 200 dollars for all the equipment I'm going to need. The mic, the cable, the adapter from XLR to 3.5mm and the boom, which I'm going to have to buy from a separate store.

Now, I must take this opportunity to apologize for speaking of such things in such vague terms, as if i were to expand on them or make them readily available. I'm not. It's not flash. So... yeah.
